Crystal Palace striker CHRISTIAN BENTEKE has had a minor operation on his knee.
The Belgium international, who has yet to score for the Eagles this term, has been out of action for Palace's last four league matches.
Palace confirmed that BENTEKE has undergone minor arthroscopic explorative surgery and washout of his knee "as it had not been settling with conservative management".
BENTEKE said: "After discussions with medical staff it was decided minor arthroscopy would be the best way to get me back on the pitch at 100%. All has gone well. Now to concentrate on getting back to full health as soon as possible!"
He is expected to be out for up to six weeks as the knee joint has to re-establish normal joint fluid after the arthroscopic surgery.
Jordan Ayew has filled in for BENTEKE in attack but has also been unable to find the net as Palace have been defeated in their last two league outings.
